Biographical Information

Wisconsin-based artist Rob Stangroom, a former marine biologist turned intuitive painter, embraces life with one foot in the known and the other in the unknown.  From whale migration to landscape architecture, Rob sees open doors in life and never hesitates to discover where the other side will lead.

Rob is an explorative artist - immersing in new materials and techniques to better know his broad range of interests.  He is known for his use of visual and physical textures in his paintings, using multiple layers to choreograph the play of conversations.  He is self-taught and has developed a firm foundation through carefully selected programs and mentors, including Nicholas Wilton, Lorna Crane, Melinda Tidwell and Sergio Gomez.

Rob’s award-winning work is found in private collections in the U.S.
